Pam Ayres was famous years ago in Britain as a housewife who turned to
writing doggerel verse and became extremely successful. She is still
quite well-known. Asked by The Telegraph to produce a poem for C&C's
nuptials, she complied with:

Dejected Thoughts on the Royal Wedding

My mother said, "Say nothing,
If you can't say something nice."
So from my poem you can see
I'm taking her advice.
